Comedy Star Ties the Knot

In news that will give funny men the world over hope of finding true love, actor Vince Vaughn has tied the knot.

The comedy star of hit movies like Old School, Wedding Crashers and Anchorman married his girlfriend of two years, Kyla Weber, in a private ceremony in his home town, just outside Chicago, Illinois.

Vaughn, 39, exchanged rings with the 31-year-old estate agent from Canada at the ceremony last weekend.

The actor met Weber following his break up with Friends star Jennifer Aniston whom he dated after they both appeared in romantic comedy The Break Up.

According to a spokesman for the star, the wedding was attended by close friends and family members.

The news may come as a shock to Aniston who has suffered a string of failed relationships.

Muse Scoop Album Cover Award

Rockers Muse, whose latest track features on the soundtrack to the Twilight movie, have picked up a design award for the cover of their most recent album.

The British group have been awarded the Best Art Vinyl prize for 2009, beating fellow UK rockers Manic Street Preachers into second place for the image on their Journal for Plague Lovers album.

Artwork for Fever Ray’s self-titled release was awarded third place with Massive Attack and US punk band Green Day making up the top five.

The shortlist for the prize consisted of 50 albums ranging from well-known popular releases to some more obscure efforts.

Winning sleeves are now set to be displayed in an exhibition at the Art Vinyl gallery in the Selfridges department store on Oxford Street in central London.

Art Vinyl director Andrew Heeps said the award was a brilliant way to celebrate the “unsung heroes” behind the art and design of some of the world’s best-loved bands and artists.

The awards have been running for five years with US indie band Fleet Foxes scooping the top prize in 2008 with the art work for their self-titled debut album.

Michael Jackson Music Video Added to National Register

The music video for Michael Jackson’s Thriller has been added to a national register in the US, which called the mini movie a cultural treasure.

Jackson was well known for filming lengthy music videos and once adopted the guise of an elderly white man for a dance routine in the video for Ghosts from the star’s Blood on the Dance Floor album.

The Library of Congress has added 25 films to the register every year since 1989 and the 2009 additions include movies ranging from 1911 to 1995.

Dog Day Afternoon, Directed by Sidney Lumet in 1975, William Wellman’s The Story of G.I. Joe from 1945 and James Frawley’s 1979 version of The Muppet Movie were also included on this year’s list.
