Apple Files Complaint With the US International Trade Commission

Lines Drawn in Cell Phone Battle

The technology war between iPhone maker Apple and Finnish cell phone company Nokia has reached boiling point after the US firm applied to have it European counterpart banned from importing products over to the states.

Earlier this month, Apple filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) asking for Nokia to banned from importing into the US.

The move follows an earlier complaint from Nokia that Apple had infringed ten of its patents in a number of its iPhone and iPod Touch products since 2007.

The US firm has since launched a counter claim which stated that Nokia had in fact infringed 13 of its designs.

A spokesperson for the Scandinavian company said: "Nokia will study the complaint when it is received and continue to defend itself vigorously.

"However this does not alter the fact that Apple has failed to agree appropriate terms for using Nokia technology and has been seeking a free ride on Nokia's innovation since it shipped the first iPhone in 2007."
